The ODU was playing at the VMTA convention in Richmond back in 85 or 86 when the fire alarm went off in the middle of our performance. The conductor hissed, “Keep playing!” I said, screw that, I’m outta here and left. Turned out to be a false alarm, but no way am I ignoring an alarm.
